System Program Managers

Typically, an OEM manufactures several different systems for diverse customers from the DoD. The individual DoD system managers have different budget profiles, system specifications, and timelines for meeting their HazMat objectives. These constraints and the lack of a single interface to coordinate pollution prevention efforts often lead to duplication of effort and costly delays in validating new system materials or processes (e.g., for coatings, coatings removal, and cleaning).

JG-PP can help system managers validate new production materials or processes in a timely and cost effective manner. Specifically, we can apply the JG-PP Methodology and resources to help you:

  • Identify pollution prevention opportunities that can be undertaken jointly by multiple system managers in concert with one or more OEMs or OEM facilities
  • Ensure that your critical system performance requirements are addressed
  • Identify environmentally acceptable alternatives that have the potential to replace HazMats
  • Identify testing costs, testing locations, sources of funding, and contract vehicles
  • Conduct or oversee validation testing
  • Use the SPI to implement validated alternatives on your systems.

If you would like to become involved in a current JG-PP project, please email us at jgpp@ctc.com. If your program has high-priority environmental problems that JG-PP projects are not currently addressing and which may be shared by two or more services or NASA, we encourage you to bring these potential project ideas to our attention. Would you like to learn more about how to initiate a project?
