Maintenance and Repair Facilities

The bulk of environmental management responsibilities in the DoD and NASA fall to the installations at which operation and support activities occur. These installations which operate, maintain, and repair the systems also bear any environmental impacts throughout the life of the system, which can be 20 to 30 years. Unfortunately, the installation commander (maintenance process owner) is not permitted to change the maintenance procedures without receiving approval from systems managers.

JG-PP can help maintenance process owners make desired pollution prevention changes at their facilities in a timely and cost effective manner. Specifically, we can apply the JG-PP Methodology and resources to help you:

  • Identify environmentally acceptable alternatives that meet maintenance process owner needs
  • Ensure that maintenance concerns are considered when identifying critical performance requirements
  • Identify testing costs, testing locations, sources of funding, and contract vehicles
  • Conduct or oversee validation testing
  • Implement validated alternatives at DoD maintenance facilities.

If you would like to become involved in a current JG-PP project, please email us at jgpp@ctc.com. If your facility has high-priority environmental problems that JG-PP projects are not currently addressing and which may be shared by two or more services or NASA, we encourage you to bring these potential project ideas to our attention. Would you like to learn more about how to initiate a project?
