Joint Test Protocol

The HMSC partnered with JG-PP to test and qualify nonchromate chemical conversion coatings for use on aluminum parts manufactured at HMSC, Tucson, Arizona. A joint group led by the JG-PP and consisting of technical representatives from HMSC, the affected DoD program managers, representatives of the sustainment community, and other government technical representatives identified and reached technical consensus on application, performance, and operational impact (supportability) requirements for primers and topcoats. The group identified and defined critical tests with descriptions, methodologies, and pass/fail criteria to qualify alternatives against these technical requirements. This JTP contains the critical requirements and tests defined by this technical community to qualify chemical conversion coatings for HMSC system applications.
