Joint Test Protocol

The JTP documents the critical technical and performance requirements for qualifying potential alternatives and the necessary laboratory and field operational validation testing. Four potential alternatives, Alumazite ZDA, TT-P-645B Zinc Molybdate Primer, TT-P-664D High Solids Primer, and ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound, were tested in accordance with the JTP. Test results are documented in a JTR. Based on the results of this testing, TT-P-664D High Solids Primer and TT-P-645B Zinc-Molybdate Primer are both acceptable alternatives to zinc chromate primer, with TT-P-664D being preferred, for providing galvanic corrosion protection for inserts and fasteners used in aircraft engines manufactured by P&W-UTC.
