March 2006 The March 23, 2006 meeting was to identify and discuss additional material and component testing that would be beneficial to ensure transition and also to identify funding sources to support the testing phase. Attendees included representatives from NRL, ARL, Sikorsky, Bell Helicopter, NAVAIR, AMCOM, FRC-E Cherry Point, and the JG-PP. Presentations were made by NRL, Bell Helicopter, FRC-E Cherry Point. Attendees included representatives from the NRL, ARL, Sikorsky, Boeing, Bell Helicopter, NAVAIR, AMCOM, FRC-E Cherry Point and thermal spray experts from private industry. NRL made a presentation providing an overview of the project and summarizing the anticipated lowering of the hexavalent chromium permissible exposure limit by OSHA. The three helicopter OEMs made presentations on their analysis of hard chrome usage on dynamic components from their military helicopters and FRC-E Cherry Point made a presentation on anticipated rig testing on HVOF thermal spray coatings deposited on dynamic components.
