Potential
Alternatives Report
The best clean alternative technology for the broadest range of aircraft
components has been identified in a previous DARPA-funded
program (Contract #MDA972-93-1-0006) as HVOF
thermal spraying. These thermal spray coatings are ideal both for OEM
use, and for rebuilding worn components in overhaul and repair depots.
A PAR
was notconducted for this project because the stakeholders agreed to consider
HVOF
as the alternative to EHC.
