Joint Test Protocol

The JTP documents the validation test requirements for primers applied to aircraft exterior surfaces, such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and composite panels. Testing includes but is not limited to adhesion, material compatibility, and corrosion resistance. Any qualified alternatives will be available for use in place of coatings meeting the existing specifications. The existing specifications for aircraft primers are MIL-P-23377 and MIL-P-85582.
