Joint Test Protocol
The JTP serves to enhance technology transfer and provides the basic requirements that must be met to consider implementation of an alternative stripping process. The JTP describes the technology and performance requirements of the stripping process as applied to the substrates used on DoD weapons systems and NASA .
The testing identified in the JTP will be multi-phased. The first phase will be screening which consists of 12 tests. Upon completion of the screening tests, the candidate laser systems will be down-selected from 14 possible systems to 3 testable systems. The second phase will be common which consists of 20 tests. The last phase will be field evaluation which consists of 2 tests. At this time, there are no extended tests identified.
