Low/No-VOC and Nonchromate Coating System for Support Equipment

Field Evaluation Reports

Four alternative coatings systems and a control coating system were selected for field testing:

  • Powder coatings:
    • DuPont ELH503S5 Gray Morning with DuPont PFW510S9 Sky White
    • Morton 13-7004 Corvel Zinc Rich Primer with Morton 30-1007 Corvel Clean White U 1578-1
  • Waterborne coatings:
    • Aqua-Poxy 912 with Defthane Zero VOC Topcoat
    • Deft 44-GY-16 Zinc Rich Primer with Deft 44-W-7 Intermediate Primer and Defthane Zero VOC Topcoat (waterborne coating)
  • Control coating:
    • MIL-P-53022B, Type II Primer and MIL-PRF-85285C, Type II Topcoat .

The alternative coatings systems were applied to support equipment and the results will be documented in FERs. The Final FER will be available on the website once final approval is received.
